Percy Sutton Harlem 5K 2015

As I continue to rehab my foot from the tendonitis, I am continuing to run smaller races to get back on the horse and prepare for my return to marathons next year. On Saturday, I entered the relatively north Harlem from my usual racing grounds of Central Park in order to run the Percy Sutton Harlem 5K.

NYRR R-U-N 5K

In May, I ran the Brooklyn Half Marathon, and afterwards my foot began to hurt. A week later, the pain reoccurred after the UAE Healthy Kidney 5K, so I went to the doctor and after a a bit of an ordeal, I was diagnosed with tendonitis. After a month of not running, a physical therapist recommended I start running again slowly and slowly build up distance again. I worked my way back up to three miles and decided I wanted to get out and race again, so I went out for the NYRR R-U-N 5K.

Review: Aftershokz Bluez 2

After the Brooklyn Half Marathon, my foot began to hurt. I was diagnosed with tendonitis soon after running the UAE 10k (which aggravated the injury) and ended up not running at all for over a month. Just as a physical therapist had me restart running, I received the Aftershokz Bluez 2 running headphones to test out.

Special Edition NYC 2015

With New York Comic Con becoming the east coast answer to the San Diego Comic Con, it has become a big, bloated pop culture event. Other conventions follow suit and the days of small conventions are bygone. ReedPOP is trying to recapture some of the feel of those days with their Special Edition convention.

LEGO Minifigures Online

On Monday, I headed down to WeWork coworking space in SoHo to get a preview of the new LEGO Minifigures Online video game. I was able to sit down and talk with John (developer) and Erling (marketing) from Funcom while testing out the game with three other people.

UAE Healthy Kidney 10k

On a warm Saturday morning, 7,947 of us lined up in our corrals on the west side of Central Park for another New York Road Runners race. The sunny, 71 degrees already felt warm in the shade before the race, but it would only be to our detriment as the race progressed.

The 2015 Brooklyn Half Marathon

With the threat of rain, thunder, and lightning looming over the day, 26,482 of us trekked to Brooklyn, NY for the NYRR Brooklyn Half Marathon. While the rain mostly held off, it overshadowed the day as we ran.

Review: Snuggbuds WET!

At the Star Wars Half Marathon Expo, I was introduced to the latest headphones from the folks at Snuggbuds, the WET! headphones. Like their previous headphones, they are sport headphones that are made for running and biking, but these are also made for water based activity, like swimming.

Review: Ultimate Star Wars

The internet has taken what was initially a play on words and turned May the Fourth into a day of celebration called Star Wars Day. It has gone beyond the initial holiday and it has further been coopted to be adopted by consumer culture. To participate in yesterday’s “holiday,” DK Publishing released a comprehensive encyclopedia of all things within the Star Wars universe entitled Ultimate Star Wars.

The LEGO Super Friends Project Part 2

Last week, DC Comics announced their plans for a girls’ line of comic books, toys, games, etc., and LEGO was included in that list. Many people instantly thought they would do a Friends type line to support it, and people instantly thought of my work on The LEGO Super Friends Project – including FBTB. This made me realize I never put the second half of the project on this site.
