Boston Marathon 2017

When I started running, my original goal was to run a 5k. After completing it, my goals escalated. Run a half marathon. Run a marathon. And once I was running marathons, I wanted to run different courses, and I began to start on the marathon majors. The biggest marathon (not by number of runners) – and hardest to get into – is the Boston Marathon. On April 17, I set out to run through Massachusetts on my fifth marathon major.

The 2017 Tokyo Marathon

After running the New York Marathon a couple times, I wanted a bigger goal and set my sights on the six Marathon Majors. I started on the road to completing them by running the Chicago Marathon then the Berlin Marathon a year later. Now it is over two years later and I set my sneakers to the pavement in Tokyo.

Recap: 2013 Chicago Marathon

After running the Goofy Challenge at Walt Disney World in January, I began thinking about what future races I wanted to run. I started to set my sights on the World Marathon Majors – the six biggest marathons in the world – and began to contemplate which of them I could run. I had already run the NYC Marathon in 2011 and started looking at the other five – Chicago, Boston, London, Berlin, and Tokyo. Since the closest and most accessible was Chicago, I chose to run it.
