NYRR Race to Deliver 4M 2017

It was a clear, but slightly chilly Sunday morning in November when we runners gathered in Central Park for the NYRR Race to Deliver 4M. The week before Thanksgiving, we ran four miles in support of God’s Love We Deliver to help bring food to those who could not afford it this holiday season.

NYRR Japan Run 4M 2017

After a cold, rainy Saturday, we woke up early Sunday morning to a slightly chilly, cloudy Mother’s Day morning. Andrea and I headed down to Central Park to start our day with a loop around Central Park for the annual Japan Day run for New York Road Runners.

NYRR Run to Breathe 4M 2017

About a month ago, I ran the Tokyo Marathon, and I am weeks away from the Boston Marathon, but I need to start looking to my future races. Now that it is warming up, I wanted to start doing my 9+1 for the 2018 NYC Marathon, so I ran the Run to Breathe 4M.

NYRR Race to Deliver 4M 2016

Having completed the NYC Marathon on November 6, I was one race away from completing my 9+1 to get automatic entry into the 2017 NYC Marathon. With the number of races to run in dwindling, I chose to run one more race in Central Park to complete my registration requirements with the Race to Deliver 4M.

NYRR Japan Run 4M 2016

On a rainy Sunday morning, I headed towards Central Park in NYC for my third New York Road Runners race of the year. My third NYRR race and my third four mile race of the year. As race time approached, we hid under the small tents in the Japan expo area, trying to stay dry before the race started. As 8am approached, we headed to our corrals for the Japan Run 4M.

NYRR Run As One 4M 2016

In my quest to get entry to the 2017 NYC Marathon, I ran my second race with New York Road Runners on April 24. Like the Run for the Parks 4M, The Run As One was another four mile loop around Central Park, but this time to raise money and awareness for lung cancer.

NYRR Run for the Parks 4M 2016

On a chilly April morning, a week before traveling to Florida for back to back races, I ran my first New York Road Runners race of the year. For a four mile race, we ran Central Park and I started the road to the 2017 NYC Marathon.

NYRR Jingle Bell Jog 2015

Each December, the New York Road Runners hold their ringliest, jingliest jog to kick off the holidays and slowly bring the running year to a close. As the last short race eligible for the 9+1 to get into the NYC Marathon the following year, this popular race gives each of the participants bells to wear on their shoes as they run the four miles around Prospect Park in the winter chill of the Jingle Bell Jog.

NYRR Race to Deliver 4M 2015

As the year slowly draws closer and closer to its end, so does the 9+1 to gain entry into the 2016 NYC Marathon. With two races left to complete to get my automatic entry, I went out on a brisk November Sunday morning to run four miles in Central Park to run the Race to Deliver 4M.

Run for the Parks 4M 2015

As the weather slowly warms up in New York, running starts to become pleasurable, and the runners leave their winter hibernation. With the start of Spring weather, it also became the start of my running season and my first New York Road Runners race of the season – the City Parks Foundation Run for the Parks 4M.
