Have A Happy New Year

As the clock ticks down the final hours of 2010, and the champagne chills in anticipation of midnight revelry, the year dwindles to a close. I want to wish all my friends, family, and everyone else reading this site a very happy and healthy new year.

Must Have iPad Apps

The Apple iPad is one of the most popular gifts this holiday season. It was one of Oprah’s favorite things, and after owning one for the better part of 2010, it’s one of mine too. For first time users, this is a good list of apps to start with, and for experienced iPad owners, maybe you’ll find a new app to check out.

Anime Apps for the iPad

Otaku are a technological breed and the iPad lends itself well to video with its almost 10 inch screen. As such, it’s the perfect portable tool for watching anime online, either by downloading them and viewing them or streaming them live via 3G or wifi.

Tron: Legacy

28 years ago, Disney unleashed upon the cinematic public the science fiction film. While the plot was slow and plodding, the special effects and creative world captured the imaginations of a generation. Such future luminaries as John Lassiter and the members of Daft Pauk have cited Tron as inspiration for their work. Now, time has passed and we have received its sequel, Tron Legacy.

Must Have Apps For the Droid Pro

The latest Motorola Droid to join the Android lineup is the Droid Pro. The Blackberry like design with the physical keyboard mixed with the multi-touch 3.1″ screen like the other Droid phones have. I recently had such an issue, where I learned the extent of this problem.

When I created my geek and tech gift guide last week, I found I wanted to add too many books and felt it would be tter to have Sandman represent books and graphic novels on that list and follow up later with a second list focusing on reading material. This list focuses exclusively on things to read and not things to read on, like the Kindle and iPad.

A Return to the Sears Automotive Debacle

A couple weeks ago, I took my car to Sears Automotive for an oil change. As soon as I left Sears, the car began leaking, something it hadn’t been the night before. Through tribulations outlined previously, I just wanted to have a fully working car again, which itself became an extended process.

2010 Geek and Tech Gift Guide

It’s that time of year where people are seeking that perfect gift for the people in their lives. Since there are so many people who don’t quite know what their friends like or aren’t sure what to buy. So as a techie and a geek, here are my suggestions for the geek in your life.

Black Friday and Foursquare

The day after Thanksgiving in the United States has been dubbed Black Friday and is considered the first day of the holiday shopping season. Although the stores begin selling their holiday wares as soon as Halloween ends, many sales are centered around this popular shopping day and there were two such deals on the location based social media network Foursquare.
